Meet Tartaruga

It’s Official….

Meet Tartaruga our 1977 28′ Airstream Argosy.


We have the check for $6200 and plan on picking up Tartaruga tomorrow in South Carolina.

Mike actually picked the name Tartaruga after finding that a lot of people are already calling their Argosy’s or Airstreams Tortuga.

Meaning of tartaruga from wikipedia – the term tartaruga is both the italian and portuguese word which may refer to: turtle , an aquatic reptile. tortoise , a land-dwelling


Since Argosy is Italian it seemed only fitting that we use an Italian word to name our travel trailer.


Nick’s choice was Terminator. My choice was Bessie. You can see why Mike won with the name choice!

Being a non conformist when it comes to paint, I would prefer to paint Tartaruga completely in a darker racing green color. Mike is thinking two-tone with a darker green on the bottom and an almost olive color on top.

We will have our flag flying when we stop to camp:
